Congrads on killing Grundy! All I heard was the depleted ranks of Grundy! Lots quit over the year some were hurt (Marcum was)or said they were... My thoughts are some will be on the basketball floor monday.. that coulda been on the field friday!

Marcum playing wouldn't have affected that game very much, the way our D-Line dominated no running back could've done well. I think Marcum knew that. Who sits out their last high school game for a hip pointer?

I believe he also had a broken hand, and bruised ribs...or something to that nature. He was said to have been pretty banged up. No point in risking a more serious injury against a team as dominant as Haysi, so credit his thinker (or someone elses) for him sitting that game out.

Last game or not, a RB less than 100% is not as effective as one who is, regardless of talent.

Josh Yates played the 03' Honaker game with multiple broken bones in his foot. That is a true man.

truth is no one on knows exactly what was wrong with marcum me personally I wouldnt play when I couldnt walk but who are we to judge what player we dont know does hip pointers hurt every time you take a step ribs hurt when you mone breathe or even think so its up to him

what is the point of playing in his last high school where nothing is at stake except further injury...grundy knew they weren't going to win so why does he need to play while injuried...and most likely he is going to play in college somewhere so why risk getting beat up even more?


yates playing in a game against honaker with a broken foot and marcum playing against haysi are 2 totally different situations...i would imagine that if grundy was playing richlands for the district title marcum would have been playing

I agree to disagree also.. lol My opinion is that if a player really, I say really has a broken bone not a hair line simple kinda fracture, the pain would be unbearable. Then comes into play is pain medication and tape it so dang tight you can feel it.. It possibly could happen.. but as far as Marcum being tough and a real man.. Hes as tough as any! I hope he does get a shot at playing football somewheres as well as some of the other players around the BDD.. They are several that could get help with their education.
